Angus Retires

For 41 years Angus McIntyre has been a Vancouver bus driver, always on trolley routes.

For the past 20 years Angus has worked the Nanaimo/Dunbar route.

May 31 was his last official day of work.

Angus says a few words and relates one of the hundreds of anecdotes accumulated through a long, and by all accounts, enjoyable career.

Enjoy a long and happy retirement Angus !!!

Saltspring Weekend 1

There are a pile of images from the band’s weekend on Saltspring Island.

It’s been busy with little time to process pics so I’ll post them in instalments as I work through them.

The band’s first gig was on Friday evening at the venerable Beaver Point Hall, complete with all the modern conveniences such as outdoor privies.

This dance party was a fundraiser for the band to give us an opportunity to reimburse members for some portion of their travel expenses.

It looked like a good crowd so we may have made a few bob.

Fred’s Fancy Party

Thanks to everyone who attended and to all the volunteers who made the fundraiser such a great success.

Boise Visitors

On May 17 the band had guests drop by from Boise, Idaho

Lisa and Steph had all 20 or so dancing in no time

There was lots of fancy footwork …

… a conga line …

… and no lack of enthusiasm.

Three Gig Saturday

Jim the hairdresser and with Roisin, Mario, Jesse, Marc, Steph and Debbie

There were three gigs on the docket for Saturday, May 15. At 1:00 the band joined in the Vancouver Craft Beer Week funeral procession parody.

The procession/brewpub crawl sashayed from Steamworks to Dix Brewpub and BBQ

Following the VCBW gig the band headed for Science World to play for a VanAct organized rally.
The rally was a protest against the changes made to the affordable housing promised for the Olympic Village.
