Canada Day Parade

The downtown Canada Day Parade starts at 7:00 pm from Georgia and Broughton.

Here is a video from the sponsors which includes a snippet of the band.

The route has been lengthen this year, a very good sign.

Band members can get further particulars by visiting ‘wurst’.

Commercial Drive Carfree Day 2010

If attendance is any indication, the Drive’s Carfree Day 2010 was an unqualified success.
Thousands of people showed up.

Even the indefatigable Carnival Band Dancers need to take a break for tea and strawberry shortcake.

June 6/7 Weekend

Photography-wise the past week was a disaster. While I wait for my camera to come back from the repair shop I, temporarily, reverted antiquated technology. Anyone under 40 will have to Google ‘film’ or ‘Kodacolor’.

The results are not pretty. This is absolutely the last time I use film!

Angus Retires

For 41 years Angus McIntyre has been a Vancouver bus driver, always on trolley routes.

For the past 20 years Angus has worked the Nanaimo/Dunbar route.

May 31 was his last official day of work.

Angus flanked by Ross, Steph and Debbie

Angus says a few words and relates one of the hundreds of anecdotes accumulated through a long, and by all accounts, enjoyable career.
