May Day Labour March and Rally

‘Golden’ Brian
The band got some exercise parading from Clark Park to Grandview Park at noon.

Poesy
The best part of the parade was taking over the northbound lanes of Commercial Drive.

Fred and his spitting image, a professional gnome.

We couldn’t have had better weather if we’d ordered it.

Slash and Burn

According to the Liberal government, after spending billions on convention centres, 10 lane bridges, Olympic Security, the Canada Line, etc., etc. there isn’t any money left for frivolities such as school music programmes and libraries.

The Carnival Band joined the Drive Street Band to play some tunes and march in a protest against school budget cuts.

There is no question we were heard, the question is, ‘will we be ignored?’

A Different Perspective

The band is featured as follows

Street Soccer Fundraiser and A Radio Gig

Alexis and Cory

On Thursday evening the band played for the Homeless Soccer fundraising event held at the Rickshaw.
The PFC (Portland Football Club) Homeless Soccer Team hopes to raise enough money to take the team to South America for the Homeless Soccer World Championships.

Roisin and John Cl.

The evening wasn’t without surprises. On a whim Marc invited the band to come down the street to CFRO, 102.7, Co-op Radio to play a couple of tunes on air.

Fred, Eddie, Roisin and Fearless Leader (Tim)

When the dust settled the band had played four tunes on Marc’s show, and Fred, Eddie, Marc, Roisin, Wayne, Tim and Ross squeezed into the studio to jaw with Marc for 10 minutes or so.

‘the Man’ his self
